This list contains a brief description of the best legal highs available, as well as links to some of our favorite, effective, trusted, and reliable brands that offer these fun, legal substances in a variety of different consumption methods.
NB. As far as we know, these brands all provide full panel product testing, to verify their product’s potency and purity, but we always recommend double checking when you’re making your purchase as new products are being added all the time.
Delta 8 THC
Delta 8 THC is a stereoisomer of Delta 9 THC (often referred to simply as THC), meaning it has the same molecular formula but its atoms are arranged slightly differently. Delta 8 has a double bond on the 8th carbon of the chain and delta 9 THC has a double bond on the 9th carbon.
Personally, I feel like the “high” from D8 products is much more controllable and functional. It just gives me a nice relaxing buzz without taking it overboard. The only downside is that most Delta 8 THC products (especially the smokable ones) give me a terrible cotton mouth and red eyes.
More on what delta 8 is and it’s legality here.
Best Delta 8 THC Brands
Binoid’s Delta-8 THC gummies come in a variety of delicious flavors that have a light sugary coating and a nice texture.
I shared these with a couple of friends on a Saturday morning and it’s safe to say that we all had a really fun day.

Delta 9 THC
Delta-9 THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the main psychoactive compound found in cannabis. In simple terms, it’s the ingredient in marijuana that gets you “high” or gives you that “euphoric” feeling.
When you consume cannabis, whether by smoking, vaping, eating, or other methods, delta-9 THC interacts with your brain and can produce effects like euphoria, relaxation, altered sensory perception, and heightened appetite, among others. If you’re looking for a legal way to get high, products containing delta-9 THC derived from hemp is a great alternative!

Best Delta 9 THC Brands
Like all the Galaxy Treats products I’ve tried, these gummies taste amazing and the end result is incredibly potent and effective. I felt pretty wasted for hours after taking them. Very happy and high as a kite.
Galaxy Treats warns on their website “do not drive or operate heavy machinery…” – NO KIDDING… I wouldn’t dare! In fact, when you’re taking these gummies I’d plan for a good 5-6 hours of downtime to enjoy their intensely euphoric and spacey vibes.
These gummies are quite possibly some of the best Delta 9 edibles I’ve tried, especially when you take the price ($35) into account.

Delta 10 THC
Like Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC, Delta 10 THC is a naturally occurring, bioactive chemical compound that can be found in cannabis and hemp plants. However, it’s found in such small amounts that the Delta 10 products you see in-store and online are more likely to be manufactured in a lab from CBD.
The Delta THC’s have almost identical molecular structures. The one big difference is that they all feature a double bond in a slightly different place, Delta 9’s double bond is between carbon’s nine and 10, while Delta 10’s double bond is found between carbon’s 10 and 11.
This difference may look insignificant to the untrained eye, but as you’ll see it makes a huge difference to the resulting compound’s overall effects.
Best Delta 10 THC Brands
If you see THCa flower for sale, what you’re essentially looking at are cannabis buds marketed as hemp. They will get you high as a kite!
To be classified as hemp, the flower needs to contain 0.3% or less of the compound Delta-9 THC, so as long as the actual D9 THC level is compliant, vendors can technically sell THCa flower as hemp.
This cannabis-ish distinction gets especially murky for hemp flower when the buds contain percentages of +15% THCa. Flower with high percentages of THCa could easily be sold in cannabis dispensaries and pass for weed.
Best THCa Brands
With 23% THCa percentage (over 20% THC after decarb), Death Star is my favorite THCa strain at the moment. It smells and tastes amazing and as an indica dominant hybrid, I was surprised to find that this strain is strangely energizing for me. I would put his in the “body buzz THCa flower” category for it’s mellow and relaxing body feeling.
I really love the way it makes me feel – which is incredibly high thanks to the high THCa percentage, but super motivated and positive.
If there’s one thing I love about vaping, it’s the flavors. And with Arete offering a whopping 13 different strain options, I really hoped that they were good so that I could eventually try them all. Having tried (more than) a few of them now, putting them at the no#1 spot in this list was a no-brainer. I love them!
I usually tend to prefer indica strains, but I must say that my favorite overall was actually a sativa, Blue Dream.
This cart had me absolutely floating. I found myself inspired and ready to create and I was truly tapped into my inner child.
That’s not to say their indicas didn’t deliver. In fact, the Cherry Pie THCa cart had me giggling all night (even though nothing was funny). I was most nervous to try GG4. Since I smoke this strain quite often, I was concerned that the vape cart wouldn’t live up to the flower. But man, can these Arete THCa carts hold their own. I was deeply relaxed throughout the evening, eventually falling into an incredibly peaceful sleep.
It’s fair to say that no matter the particular strain, Arete’s Live Resin THCa vape carts offer a perfectly smooth hit, packed with delicious flavors and enjoyable effects. The blend of THCa and CBD creates a balanced peacefulness and euphoria that is truly delightful.
Tetrahydrocannabiphorol was only discovered in 2019, so we don’t know a lot about it. If you look at THC-P vs THC, the chemical structure of THC-P differs in the fact that it has seven carbon atoms against D9 THC’s five. This is said to make THC-P 33X more active at CB1 receptors.
THC-P does create a certain buzz but I have found that it’s much weaker than most other cannabinoids even though science says that it should be stronger.
Try these carts from Binoid if you are curious about a new type of relaxing buzz but don’t expect a mind-blowing experience.

HHC-P, also known as hexahydrocannabiphorol, is part of a group of hydrogenated cannabinoids along with HHC and HHC-O. It is a synthetic cannabinoid that is chemically modified in a lab from HHC and was deliberately created to be similar to THC-P, enhancing the potency of HHC by around 10 times.
HHC-P is stronger than HHC due to the addition of carbon atoms on its molecular side chain, allowing the cannabinoid to bind more efficiently to type 1 cannabinoid receptors (aka CB1 receptors) in the brain that are responsible for making the user feel high.
As a hydrogenated form of THC, HHC is more chemically stable than THC-based cannabinoids, which is why HHC-P was created in the first place. HHC-P mimics the potency of THC-P, while also having the advantage of being more chemically stable. Many people believe that this chemical stability enhances the compound’s bioavailability, which may be another reason it feels more potent.
Best HHC Brands
The HHC gummies produced by Hometown Hero contain a massive 50 mg of HHC in each gummy and, because HHC is easily one of my favorite minor cannabinoids, I was super excited to try these out as soon as they arrived in the mail.
The effects were euphoric, uplifting, and energizing, so when I saw (online) that they contain a dash of sativa dominant live rosin, I wasn’t overly surprised.
The BlueRazz flavor was delicious (my favorite Hometown Hero gummy flavor so far) and I thought the texture was better than that found in most other gummies too.
I honestly think these are some of the best HHC vape carts on the market right now and with only two ingredients (HHC distillate and Maui Wowie terpenes), Vance Global doesn’t put anything in their vape carts they wouldn’t want to vape themselves (no cutting agents or fillers).

Amanita Muscaria: fly agaric 🍄
Ingestion of fly agaric leads to a very different experience from traditional psychedelics, like psilocybin or LSD. An a. muscaria trip does have psychedelic qualities, but it’s more accurately classified as a deliriant.
Deliriants are a subclass of hallucinogens, characterized by their primary effect of causing delirium (drowsiness, disassociation, hallucinations, delusions), as opposed to other types of hallucinogens that cause more lucid states.
Historically, amanita muscaria mushrooms have been used in cultural and shamanic practices for their mind-altering properties.
Galaxy Treats Moon Shrooms (750mg) contain a large dose of mind-expanding and transformational amanita muscaria.
These high-dose Moon Shrooms from Galaxy Treats are definitely very different from psilocybin mushrooms I’ve taken in the past, but as far as legal shroom gummies go, these are the best psychedelic mushroom gummies you can buy.
I felt happy and floaty, and I also became hyper-aware of my surroundings. Colors and sounds around me became more intense and music seemed to take on a completely new meaning.
However, these effects were still very mild in comparison to other psychedelics I’ve taken so, if you’re looking for a more transformational experience, you might want to experiment with taking more. But these gummies definitely offered more noticeable effects than the other amanita gummies on the market (gram for gram).
If this is your first time experimenting with amanita muscaria, I highly recommend that you start with half a gummy to make sure they don’t disagree with you, as they can make some people sick.
Kanna (Sceletium Tortuosum)
Galaxy Treats’ Delta K gummies blend a light helping of Delta 8 THC (15mg) with 10mg of Kanna (also known as Sceletium tortuosum). Kanna has been used in South Africa for hundreds of years to boost mood, ease anxiety, and improve focus.
Kanna is often referred to as “nature’s MDMA”, a schedule I stimulant also known as Molly or Ecstacy, and at higher doses (+25mg), Kanna can be pretty intoxicating, reminiscent of MDMA in more ways than one, including massive increases in energy, empathy, and pleasure. This will be my first experience with Kanna, so I’m interested to see what 10mg will do!
Just one Delta K gummy has a pretty noticeable effect, making me feel really happy and energized, but at the same time I still felt like I wanted to relax rather than move about. I found it to be oddly stimulating and sedating at the same time.
I felt like I was able to think more clearly and get work done, but I did end up wrapping up earlier than usual as I wasn’t 100% confident on the quality of my output and I really just wanted to relax and enjoy my happy, positive, smiley mood.

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa)
Kratom has long been used in Southeast Asia for its stimulant-like and opioid-like effects. It is an all-natural, legal high that comes from the leaves of a tree called “mitragyna speciosa”.
When you take kratom, the effects you will feel can vary wildly depending on the dosage and the “strain” you choose (popular strains are usually classified into red, green, and white strains).
Kratom is dose dependent
At lower doses, kratom can provide you with a sense of increased energy, and improved alertness and focus. The experience is similar to other mild stimulants (similar to taking a high dose of caffeine), which makes it a popular choice for people looking to boost their productivity at work and in the gym. Taking kratom also induces feelings of euphoria, happiness, and a more positive, sunny outlook on life.
Some people find that taking moderate doses of kratom helps to improve social interactions by reducing inhibitions and anxiety levels. Some people liken these effects to how it feels after taking cocaine.
However, at higher doses, the effects completely change as kratom has more of a sedative effect, leading to deep relaxation and calmness. Kratom interacts with opioid receptors in the brain, achieving pain relief that is similar to opioid medications (but generally milder in nature).
Some reports suggest that kratom may also help to suppress your appetite, which can be helpful if you’re trying to manage your weight or control overeating.
NB. Potential side effects (especially at higher doses) include nausea, constipation, dry mouth, dizziness, and (in extreme cases) dependence and withdrawal symptoms from prolonged and heavy use.
|Red Vein||Calming & soothing||Relaxation, pain relief, sedation, mood enhancement|
|Green Vein||Middle-ground between red and white||Balanced energy, mood enhancement, mild pain relief|
|White Vein||Invigorating & uplifting||Energy, focus, stimulation, mood elevation|
|Maeng Da Kratom||Known for its strong effects and high alkaloid content||Potent energy, stimulation, pain relief, mood enhancement|
|Bali Kratom||Frequently associated with strong sedative effects||Relaxation, pain relief, mood improvement|
|Thai Kratom||Known for providing a boost in energy and mental clarity||Energy, focus, stimulation|
|Borneo Kratom||Generally associated with a balanced effect profile||Varied depending on vein color, but often includes relaxation and pain relief|
All of the natural and synthetic cannabinoids sold by these companies are legal substances according to the Hemp Farming Act of 2018. They all exert psychoactive effects, similar to those offered by Delta 9 THC.
However, the potency of their psychoactive effects are meditated via their affinity for cannabinoid receptors in our brains, so the strength of each compound can vary wildly. Always start off with a lower dose until you know how the product makes you feel.
You should be aware that there are no studies into the long-term effects or long-term use of some of these “new” cannabinoids, but so far they appear to be relatively safe, with no deaths or serious adverse effects recorded. There have also been no reports of abuse or addictive potential.
If you experience any adverse effects from any psychoactive substances, you should discontinue use immediately and seek medical care.
Please avoid any synthetic cannabinoids or designer drugs that are marketed as air fresheners, as these are NOT safe for human consumption. Herbal blends or mixtures are sprayed with toxic synthetic cannabinoids, also known as spice, and are sold as air fresheners in an effort to evade law enforcement. These products are not fit for human consumption and have been the cause of several deaths.
