Arete Live Resin Carts

The 6 Best Live Resin Carts: Real-Life Testing for Flavor, Potency & Price

I’ve tried hundreds of live resin carts with everything from CBD to THCa, Delta-8, HHC and everything in between. Here is my list of the 6 best live resin carts on the market right now.

⚡️ Quick list of my top 6

Live Resin is the Gold-Standard of Vape Carts

Since their arrival on the scene, live resin carts have taken the cannabis world by storm, offering enthusiasts a potent and flavorful experience like never before.

But like many things in life, not all live resin carts are created equal and it can be difficult to know you’re getting the best quality products for a reasonable price.

Luckily for you, I’ve searched far and wide for the best live resin carts available on the market today.

What is live resin?

Live resin is a concentrate extracted from live smokable hemp plants that have been flash-frozen at peak maturity, as opposed to traditional methods which use cured buds. This process ensures perfectly preserved cannabinoid and terpene profiles.

My 6 personal favorite live resin carts of 2024

Having worked in the hemp industry for as long as I have (and tried hundreds upon hundreds of vape carts over the years), it’s clear to see that some brands are producing products that are light years ahead of others, in terms of effects, taste, safety, and overall experience.

For as many excellent products I’ve found, I’ve probably found at least twice as many that aren’t worth the cart they’re delivered in.

I always enjoy trying new products but in this unregulated market, it’s a bit hit and miss, and I often find myself going back to the same brands that I know and trust, time and time again.

Live resin carts are heralded in this industry for their superior flavors and taste and today I’m going to share my six favorite brands producing them (as well as the pros and cons of each, to help you decide which one might be best for you).

Hopefully this will save you going through the same frustrating trial and error process that I did.

1. Binoid CBD

Best Live Resin by Binoid CBD

Binoid CBD tops my list as producing the best live resin vape carts overall. They offer the highest potency, great-tasting carts at the best value, plus they have a broad range of cannabinoid blends available to choose from.

Binoid’s live resin carts are formulated using only premium live resin distillate and live resin terpenes – nothing else. No fillers or artificial flavors, none of that yucky stuff at all. And all their products are third-party tested so you can verify the cannabinoid profile online before you make a purchase.

Their Gold Line live resin carts certainly lives up to their name. Specifically, the Delta 8 and THC-O live resin carts are way more potent than you’ll find elsewhere. Plus, Binoid always has a wide variety of strains to choose from, so you change up the overall effects and experience as often as you want.

Even better than the choice, is the price. All four of the Gold Line live resin vapes can be bought together in a bundle. That means 4 x 1g cartridges for only $100!

On top of the Delta 8 and THC-O carts, you also get one HHC-O cart and one THC-P cart. I like getting bundles like this, especially when I’m trying new brands, as I like to experiment with different cannabinoids and the effects I feel from them often differ slightly from one brand and strain to the next.

As long-time advocates of Binoid’s products, we’ve also managed to secure our readers a 25% discount code (use CBDINC25 at checkout) so that you can try them out for yourself at a much lower price.

Just be aware that Binoid CBD doesn’t have any THCa live resin carts at the moment. Their THCa vape products use live rosin instead, which is certainly worth checking out as a great alternative to live resin (also known for great flavor). Live rosin differs from live resin in that it is extracted from cured buds, but no solvents are used during extraction, just heat and pressure.

2. Arete Hemp

Arete Live Resin Carts

If you’re looking for the best THCa live resin cart, look no further than Arete Hemp. It’s no secret that I love these carts (they’ve already topped our list of the Best THCa Vape Carts of 2023). Even with my high tolerance, I can honestly say these carts are indistinguishable from the Delta 9 live resin carts available at my local dispensary.

Arete Hemp has a great reputation for offering extremely high quality CBD and THC products at affordable prices, and their THCa live resin carts are no exception. These live resin carts are formulated using Arete Hemp’s THCa hemp diamonds, high-quality CBD live resin, and steam-distilled terpenes for an extra boost of flavor.

The potency of these carts is quite high, making them ideal for more experienced users and those looking for relief from moderate to severe symptoms.

I love these THC/CBD blends as they tend to offer a smoother high thanks to the enhanced effects gained from cannabinoid synergy. If you’re a seasoned smoker/vaper, I think you’ll really appreciate the nuanced experience offered by the 13 different strains available.

Arete Hemp has a strain to suit every occasion, whether that may be relief from insomnia (try Forbidden Fruit) or an energetic boost of creativity (give Durban Poison a try).

Since these carts first came on the market, I’ve almost tried them all and highly recommend you do the same by taking advantage of this brand’s awesome discounted bundle options.

3. TreHouse

TreHouse Live Resin Disposable Vape

If you’re working with quite a tight budget then I recommend you check out the live resin carts at TREHouse because, if you’re buying single carts, TREHouse offers the absolute best prices on live resin vape carts.

The effects aren’t quite as strong as the other carts on this list, but they do offer pretty decent potencies (and that great live resin taste), which makes a decent trade-off for the affordability offered.

The lower potency does mean that they won’t last very long for those with higher tolerances, but the lower cost means that you’ll be able to get more carts for your money – a slight inconvenience. Lighter vapers, day tokers, and beginner’s, however, might prefer the lighter effects offered by these carts.

Among the cannabinoids offered by TREHouse are Delta 8, HHC, THC-P, and a D8 blend, but check the lab reports as the THC-P cart actually has D8, D10, and THC-P, while the D8 blend (advertised to contain D8, D10, and THC-P) actually contains D8, D10, and THC-O.

The mislabeling is confusing and a bit off-putting (I’ve emailed them about it), but for the effects and price offered, I still believe they have a place on this list.

In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed their Grape Ape HHC live resin cart. This cart perfectly encapsulates the high I think of when I think of HHC. A feeling of warmth enveloped me and the buzz spread quickly from my body to my mind and left me with a relaxed smile on my face.

But my favorite cart was the Ice Cream Cake Delta 8 blend. It was absolutely delicious. The sedating effects of this indica-dominant hybrid came on low and slow, but eventually built up to a pleasant high. Relaxation flooded both my body and my mind, alleviating my anxiety and easing me into a peaceful night’s rest.

  • Lowest prices
  • Decent quality and potency for price
  • Third party lab tested for potency

  • Not as potent as others on this list
  • Metal carts aren’t as smooth as ceramic/glass
  • Labeled contents and lab reports don’t match

Live resin carts available

  • Delta 8 (GSC, Green Crack, Gelato)
  • Delta 8, Delta 10 and THC-P (Ice Cream Cake)
  • THC-P (White Widow)
  • HHC (Grape Ape)

4. Mellow Fellow

Mellow Fellow Euphoria Blend vape pod

For live resin cart blends that are as unique as they are effective and affordable, turn to Mellow Fellow. Their proprietary blends are thoughtfully formulated by a team of pharmacists and chemists to achieve very specific effects.

This takes the guesswork out of shopping because you can be sure that you’ll receive a product that was designed with your experience in mind.

Anyone else with ADHD knows, mental focus can be a daily struggle that’s difficult to escape, even with traditional medication. Picking the “Clarity Blend” live resin vape (Jack Herer) was a no-brainer for me and I loved the way it made me feel.

It offered a sense of cerebral elevation that kicked in quickly, leaving me clear-headed and ready to face the day. It was a perfect balance of calming and energizing.

Along with the easy shopping experience and unique formulas, another thing I love about these live resin carts is the high quality cartridge. The use of a ceramic heating element along with a high-grade Japanese cotton wick makes for a perfectly smooth hit and these carts waver in neither potency nor flavor, even toward the end of the cartridge’s life.

  • Easy shopping experience (by effect)
  • Pharmacist-formulated
  • High quality carts
  • Great prices
  • Lab tested for potency and purity

  • All their live resin carts are cannabinoid blends

Live resin carts available

  • Too many different blends to list (but some examples are: clarity, desire, motivation, creativity, tranquility, dream, and euphoria)

Price range

$29.99-$44.99 per two gram cartridge

$49.99- $64.99 per four grams (cartridge or duo pack)

5. Delta Extrax

Delta Extrax THCa Live Resin Disposable

Delta Extrax earned their spot on this list because their HXY-11 THC live resin cart is one of my favorites. For those who may not know, HXY-11 THC is a natural, biological product that forms following the ingestion of edible THC. When vaped, it produces similar effects to what you’d feel from eating an edible, which is a bit more psychedelic than most other forms of THC (learn more about the effects of different legal highs here). With this cart you can get the (usually 40-60 minutes) edible experience in under a minute and it hits you as hard as it does fast.

The live resin terpene blend used in these carts is also fantastic. Not only was the GSC cart potent, but it actually tasted exactly like a Thin Mint should. That sweet minty flavor gave me a much-needed case of the munchies, perfect if you need a little boost to your appetite. Couple that with some next-level euphoria, and you know all my snacks tasted out of this world.

Their Wreck’d Series blend of THCa and THC-P had me feeling very relaxed and the effects came on quickly, but, in all honesty, I was expecting something much harder hitting (considering the name). It’s still a great purchase (unique and satisfying high at a great price), but I’d caution you to ignore the name and manage your expectations to align with the price.

The high is mellow and relaxing, not overly euphoric or overwhelming. With just a few puffs, these live resin carts got me to a beautifully content and calm level, but not at all lazy. As I said, the onset of effects was much quicker than I expected, but they also lasted beyond the usual threshold for Delta 8.

My one complaint is that I notice these carts tend to clog more than some of the others on this list. But, on the flip side, if you run into issues with a cart from Delta Extrax, their fantastic customer service team will happily go out of their way to make things right. There’s no better way for a company to prove their commitment to customer satisfaction.

  • Unique cannabinoid blends available
  • Great prices
  • Third party lab tested for potency and purity
  • Excellent customer service team

  • Not as potent as other carts on this list
  • HXY collection can be harsh on the throat
  • Seem to run into more clogging/leaking issues with this brand

Live resin carts available

  • HXY Collection – Delta 8, Delta 10, HXY11-THC, THC-h blend (24K Gold Punch, GSC, Mimosa)
  • Wreck’d Series – Delta 8, THCa, THC-P, THC-jd blend (Amnesia Haze, Mr. Nice Guy, Truth Serum, Twisted Citrus)

Price range

$15.99-$25.99 per two gram cartridge

6. Secret Nature

Secret Nature Live Resin Carts

With a more artisanal approach to hemp and cannabis, Secret Nature doesn’t have the largest cannabinoid selection available, but what they do do, they do extremely well. These carts are ideal for those of you that want the highest quality possible and are willing to pay for a more luxury experience.

For me, the price is too high to be buying all the time, but I do like to treat myself from time to time (and when I do, Secret Nature is my go-to brand).

Plus, Secret Nature’s live resin carts just happen to include some of my all-time favorite strains.

They only have CBD and Delta 8 live resin carts available at the moment, but if you’re willing to consider disposable vapes too (sorry environment), then your choice of cannabinoids will broaden to include THCa and THCv (also highly recommended!).

The quality of Secret Nature’s live resin carts reveals itself with every smooth, tasty puff. Their carts provide strong, fast-acting effects and fantastic flavors. When I’m feeling anxious or out of sorts, just a few hits from one of these CBD live resin vapes can level me out quite nicely.

White Fire OG in particular was an incredibly relaxing strain, offering impressive pain relief. I would most certainly classify this one as a bedtime strain. Orange Royale, on the other hand, is an uplifting sativa strain perfect for daytime use. For me, it promoted a sense of peace, eased the stress of my daily grind, and kept me feeling motivated.

No matter which exotic strain you choose, I’m sure you’ll love it. Secret Nature prides themselves on their unique genetics, having spent years breeding high CBD and high THCa hemp strains. Their organic cultivation processes yield high quality flower which is expertly extracted into live resin that’s incredible for vaping.

All of Secret Nature’s products are third party lab tested for potency as well as purity and, like the other carts in this list, there are absolutely no artificial ingredients, flavors, or cutting agents used.

One complaint I’ve heard on the grapevine is that their customer service team can be a little slow. This could prove to be a problem if you receive a defective cartridge in the mail as you might be kept waiting a while before you get sent another. But I’ve never had anything but 5* products from this brand, so I haven’t had this experience.

  • Unique and exotic strains
  • Live resin terpene blends come direct from their home-grown flower
  • High quality carts
  • Third party lab tested for potency and purity

  • More expensive than other carts on this list
  • Customer service team can sometimes be slow (according to some reports)

Live resin carts available

  • Full spectrum CBD (Orange Royale, White Fire OG, Lemon Diesel, Gelato 33, Durban Poison)
  • Full spectrum Delta 8

$30.00-$55.00 per 700-1200 mg cartridge

How to choose the best live resin cart brands

If you want to make sure that you’re buying from the best live resin cart brands on the market then it’s important you know what to look for and then spend the time doing your research.

I’ve shared my favorite live resin brands in the list above (taking the hard work out of the search) but if you want to do some investigating of your own, then check out the following tips on what to look for.

Third party lab testing

The most important item on your list, when shopping for live resin vape carts, should be to locate the brand’s third party lab test results. If these aren’t readily available on their website, I would immediately take my business elsewhere.

The lab reports will verify the cannabinoid content of the product in question, so you know exactly what you’re getting. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come across companies that

  1. Claim to be third-party lab tested but the reports are nowhere to be seen, or,
  2. Have a much lower cannabinoid potency than advertised

Some companies will go a step further by testing their products for potency and purity. Not only do these tests allow you to verify that the potency is in line with your expectations, but you can also confirm that the cartridge is free from any harmful contaminants, including pesticides, heavy metals, and other foreign matter.

When it comes to live resin carts, it’s important to pay extra attention to the residual solvents testing as the live resin extraction process does involve the use of solvents.

In my experience, the best brands for live resin vape carts are always transparent when it comes to the results of their third party lab testing. As I said, sometimes what’s advertised on the box isn’t always in line with what the testing shows, and products can change from one batch to the next. That’s why it’s so important to review the results with your own eyes (and also why I never buy hemp products from gas stations).

High quality ingredients are the basis for high quality products. Trustworthy brands are transparent about the ingredients included in their products, as well as the processes that were utilized to obtain them.

It’s important that you purchase live resin carts from brands that take care in sourcing high quality, organic ingredients from the USA. Some artisanal brands in particular have exceptional control over their product quality, as they’re closer to the entire process from seed to table.

A brand’s reputation within the hemp industry can speak volumes about what to expect from them. But a brand’s reputation among their customers can reveal even more.

How many five star reviews do they have (keeping in mind not to discriminate against new brands)? What do the other reviews say about them? How do they respond to customers?

Customer service is another critical piece of the puzzle. Cartridges contain delicate components that could potentially be damaged during shipping. You want to make sure that you’re purchasing from a company that cares about your experience.

Cannabinoid Buyer’s Guide

Use this guide as a reference to which cannabinoid you should purchase to for your personal needs. The stars represent the most popular cannabinoids with a good safety profile, natural occurrence, and are approved by our staff.

If this is your first time consuming a cannabinoid, we recommend that you start with a low dose and consume slowly to not get overwhelmed.

Cannabinoid Potency (according to science) Effects
Delta-9 THC 1 Euphoria, Relaxation
35 Euphoria, Relaxation
THCa 0.877 Euphoria, Relaxation
THCv 0.25 Energized, Focused, Appetite Suppression

THC-JD 19 Euphoria, Relaxation

How to vape live resin for the best experience

If you’re forking out a little extra on a live resin cart, you’ll no doubt want to make sure you get the best experience possible. So, here’s some more information on what voltage/temp to use when you’ve got your new live resin cart locked and loaded.

Best voltage for live resin carts

Lower to middle range voltages tend to be best for vaping live resin carts. Anywhere between 2.5V-3.3V, which is pretty standard for most vape batteries, is where you’ll find your sweet spot.

Best temp for live resin carts

In line with voltage, lower to middle range temperatures are ideal for vaping live resin carts. I would recommend starting out around 315℉ and working your way up until you find the right hit for you, but never exceeding 400℉.

Are live resin carts really better?

At the end of the day, it will come down to personal taste whether you like live resin carts better than other options. It is generally accepted that live resin terpenes yield superior taste and smell, but some people prefer live rosin to live resin and others still claim to prefer artificial flavors(!).

Are live resin carts healthier?

There’s no significant evidence to argue that live resin is healthier to vape than other types of extracts or terpenes. Compared to smoking flower, however, a clean (purity tested), live resin cart is a healthier option for your lungs, because smoking involves combusting plant material (which releases carcinogenic toxins).

Does live resin get you higher than normal carts?

Some people argue that live resin carts do induce a greater high due to the natural cannabinoid and terpene synergies at play but, ultimately, the total THC content of a cart will play a more influential role in how high you get.

Checking the lab reports to find out what percentage of the cart is made up of psychoactive cannabinoids is the best indicator as to how high you might get. But live resin enthusiasts will tell you that the presence of other natural cannabinoids and terpenes (found in live resin) contribute to more unique and enjoyable high.

Are live resin carts worth the extra money?

When it comes to carts (and hemp/cannabis products in general), I’m willing to spend a little more money on higher quality products in order to get a better experience . For this reason, I believe that live resin carts are worth more because I value a tastier vaping experience, as well as authentic strain flavors.

As long as you see the benefits of live resin carts and enjoy them more (after trying them), then they’re definitely worth shelling out the extra cash.

Do live resin carts smell stronger?

Yes, decent live resin carts do have a stronger smell than normal carts. Stronger smell and taste are two of the main factors that distinguish live resin from other types of distillates.

Can live resin carts be fake?

Unfortunately, live resin carts can be fake. I’ve heard of brands being accused of making false claims (about using live resin) and about “copy carts” being released (designed to look like a reputable brand’s product). That’s why I recommend that you only buy products from reputable companies (directly from the brand themselves if you can).

Even if you see a brand you recognize at your local corner store or gas station – how do you know if it’s genuine? For this reason, I always buy my live resin carts straight from the brand’s website.

Why does live resin hit harder?

Because the hemp plants are flash-frozen while alive, the terpenes and cannabinoids are more effectively preserved within live resin. This is why live resin hits harder than your average run of the mill vape cart. You can also thank the entourage effect, as higher quality extracts boost the interactions between all the different cannabinoids and terpenes.

Who’s got the best live resin Delta 8 carts?

In my opinion, the best Delta 8 live resin cart on the market is being produced by Binoid CBD. This brand holds the crown for best potency and value all round, but there is only one strain option for Delta 8 (unless you’re happy to consider D8 blends – then they have tons). If Binoid’s Blueberry Kush strain doesn’t tickle your fancy, then check out the D8 live resin carts offered by Secret Nature and TREHouse.
